On the 5th - 6th June, wnDirect & Asendia attended DELIVER in Lisbon, accompanied by colleagues from the UK, Spain, Germany and Switzerland. The event was a great opportunity for us to meet other like-minded industry thinkers and create new opportunities with retailers looking to expand cross border.
The event was organised with a series of one-to-one meetings, where we could discuss cross border opportunities with retailers from all over the world. We had some really great conversations and are looking forward to working with some new partners!
At the event, we demonstrated a retailer story with a valuable partner of ours, Mountain Warehouse. Mountain Warehouse was founded in 1987 by Mark Neal, who owns the company today and is the largest outdoor retailer in the UK who are now we’re expanding internationally.
The Global Logistic Manager from Mountain Warehouse, Jessica Mays, explained, “you need partners like wnDirect who are going to support you and offer creative solutions. wnDirect has positively impacted our international growth through their support, local knowledge and the services they offer.
I believe wnDirect has given us a springboard to increase the number of countries we’re shipping to and the amount of services we’re offering. Because they are so robust and consistent all year long if we wanted to participate in a promotion like Singles Day for example, I would be confident I could call them and say hey tomorrow we’re going to give you 2,000 extra parcels, and they’re the type of people that can do that. Not every other courier is going to be OK with a sudden increase in volumes, but in a fast-paced ecommerce market we need a partner who can support that type of activity.”
